Journal: I had a late breakfast during which I had a long chat with Amanda, the B&B owner, about Ireland, Australia and life.  Then, it was into the village to drop my washing off at the village laundry (no self-serve here), get a haircut and a shave, buy and send off some birthday cards to my children, and have a look around.

This coming Sunday is a big day locally.  They are celebrating the life of Sean McDermott, one of the organisers of the Irish Rebellion in 1916, who lived in the village early in his political career and was executed by the British in 2016 for his part in the rebellion.  There are displays throughout the village and the main street is to be renamed in his honour.  It looks like I've missed the fun by two days!

After collecting my laundry, I returned to the B&B to catch up on some online work and planning for the next week.  In the evening, I returned to the village and bought some take-out for dinner, yet again.
